Mr. Aßmann completed his law degree at the University of Potsdam and his legal clerkship at the Berlin Court of Appeal, passing his second state law examination in 2021. After passing his first state law examination, he worked at a leading German debt collection firm, where he was responsible for enforcing claims on behalf of online retailers operating throughout Europe.
He began his career as an attorney during the diesel emissions scandal. Subsequently, as a lead attorney on the project, he represented several thousand German consumers in asserting their claims for reimbursement of losses incurred from participating in online gambling against companies based in other European countries. In doing so, he gained extensive litigation experience in the judicial enforcement of claims through all levels of the court system and contributed significantly to the development of consumer-friendly case law.
His practice focuses in particular on the out-of-court and in-court enforcement and defense of claims (litigation). He also advises companies and their legal departments on all matters of civil law. His work is characterized by a practice-oriented advisory approach. He represents national and international companies in the online retail, software, major events, and gaming industries.
He has been admitted to the bar since November 2021 and joined the team at Ihde & Partner in April 2026. His practice focuses in particular on general civil law and civil procedure, labor law, IT law, and corporate law.
